We are currently forming a Teen Council to learn more about teen interests. Teens will volunteer their time to work on a team of their peers to brainstorm improvements to our existing programs and offer input toward the creation of new programs. Involvement includes attending an initial focus group and periodic meetings thereafter. Your participation and feedback could help shape the future of teen programming at the Museum. Teens with strong leadership skills who work well with others are encouraged to apply. The program will be held during the summer of and consists of field research, laboratory work, and a final presentation.
Youth Summer Employment
Opportunities for Young Adults Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired
For some of the teens the scores didn't matter, the fellowship between them did. A team year-old Melvin played for this week lost by one point. But the East Tech student, who was once arrested for assault and burglary, said the best part about the program was that he got a chance to know people from different neighborhoods. The Plain Dealer is using only first names since it generally doesn't identify juveniles and their criminal records. The teen, who lives in the Heritage View Homes, the former Garden Valley public housing complex, said he wants to study construction and learn how to flip real estate properties. Others, even the player with a penchant for boasting, also said they learned lessons about life. The tall and lanky teenager, who has tattoos all over his arms and torso, has lived in several East side neighborhoods and was kicked out of public school his junior year because he frequently got into fights.
Youth Programs and Summer Camps
There is a high school golf team prep class. These three-hole entry level leagues are designed to introduce new players to the on-course golf experience. These are transitional leagues for players ready for more than the three-hole Pee-Wee League but not quite ready for a full course experience.
Due to the current COVID pandemic, we have currently suspended new college and high school applications until further notice. Please check our website for updated information. High School students over the age of 15 wishing to volunteer are expected to follow the below steps. Once you complete the volunteer orientation and are assigned to a role, you may be required to attend an additional trainings.
